Holistically Engaged was not founded on a business plan, nor in any organized matter, but on a personal reckoning. It began in a season of challenge, in the quiet sanctuary of a little bedroom converted to an office space, where the only answers to be found were held in the wisdom of our collection of books. Here, amidst the scent of burning incense and the gentle weight of grief, snuggled with our pup, we rediscovered a fundamental truth: we are not separate from nature; we are an extension of it.

Our journey is rooted in a simple, profound realization: the same energy that flows through a forest, cleanses in a river, or grounds in a mountain, also flows through us. That energy within us becomes stagnant—cluttered by the noise of modern life, by stress, by loss—we feel it. We become overburdened with it all. We feel disconnected. Frankly, one can feel overwhelmingly alone.

This is where the old ways call to us.

We learned that cultures across time and oceans have understood this need for energetic hygiene. The sacred practice of smudging isn’t about superstition; it’s about using smoke as a conscious tool to clear the invisible residue of our experiences. A ritual bath is not just about cleaning the body, but about immersing the spirit in the mineral-rich, herbal intelligence of the earth to wash away what no longer serves us.

This wasn't just a study—it was a calling. We felt a pull to understand energy on a deeper level, which led us to the healing art of Reiki. Learning and practicing Reiki became a profound part of our own path, teaching us to feel and facilitate the flow of universal life force energy. This journey of transforms our relationship with the world and solidifies our purpose: to live and work in harmony with what pulls our spirit.

This entire path—from the ancient smoke to the healing touch—has brought us here. Holistically Engaged is the manifestation of that journey, a space where we share the tools and practices that have help us continuously find balance within our daily lives.
